I went to WisCon 34 (2010). It was my first writing convention of any kind. While there I naturally picked up a few books. One of them was Shadow Blade by Seressia Glass. I learned a few hours after buying the book that the author was scheduled to be at WisCon but wasn't able to make it. I was disappointed - especially since I learned it while sitting in a session where she would have been a panelist. Maybe next time.

I enjoyed the book and will write a real review. For now let me say that I think the heroine Kira Solomon has a passion for life that reminds me of Me'Shell Ndegeocello. That's high complement and I'm impatiently waiting for book two.
