Can We Have Happiness & Be Wealthy?

Do you work hard? I know I do. Yet, personal finance is a challenge. Managing household finances is a burden that I put off and ignored for years. Instead of balancing my checkbook, I made art, tried to write a novel, knitted a sweater, taught workshops, read a lot of good books. When money came in, I spent it. When money was short I waited.

Money talks. Learn to listen.

Luckily some of the books I read provided me with insights into why I was sabotaging my financial happiness and how I could retrain my mind and align my actions with my goals. Waiting is not the Way to Financial Freedom

A little voice started whispering to me, “Do you long to live free of money worries?” I do. I do, I assured the voice. I’d spout the Army’s “hope is not a method” catchphrase and I thought just wanting would be enough. But it’s not. Barbara Stanny’s Secrets of Six-Figure Women: Surprising Strategies to Up Your Earnings and Change Your Life opened my eyes to the fact that to make money you have to have the intention to make money. That’s wealthy strategy #1: The declaration of intention.

Financial Freedom is Priceless

You must become conscious of personal finance fundamentals. Did you get out of school and grow up without knowing a lot about money and how it works. I did. How did this happen to us? (That’s another issue.) Here we'll join forces and learn together. We’ll brainstorm about money making ideas. We’ll warn people about scams and money pitfalls and we’ll share what’s worked for us personally.
