fireside chat: ¿What will you do differently in 2008 to improve your financial situation?
Gwen's Soliloquy:
Money Matters if You Want to Be Happy
Today is the day I start respecting every penny I earn and every minute of my time. 2007 has been the absolute worse year for me financially. I've acted like an immature, money ignorant, ne'er–do–well the entire year and most of 2006.
I didn't value my time and I let others do the same.
I spent money I didn't have on things I didn't need.
I acted as if I were completely ignorant of financial principals and concepts.
I volunteered when I should have been earning.
I didn't balance my checkbook or my wants and needs.
I was unconscious yet I could see myself. It's been like having an out of body experience.
I've been self-employed for fifteen years so I know better. I'm not going to make excuses or even spend the time to go back and rehash what my point was, what I was hiding from, what I was forgetting, or trying to remember. It's done and now I have to get to where I want to be. Screw trying to get back to where I was; that's not where I want to be. I want to be in a much better, much more secure place.

Stay debt-free and buy lots of stuff. Being debt free allows freedom to spend cash almost randomly, but one cavet, you must have an equally agressive savings plan. Both plan are easy and painless, once you owe no one, no credit card, no credit union, no bank or student loan.
