Join Intuitive Healers In Experiencing Self-Knowledge And Body Confidence
First off let me say that I don’t believe that another person can tell you things about your body that you don’t already, on some level, know. I do believe in intuitive healers, and medicine and am a firm believer in medical testing. I don’t however necessarily trust everything I’m told simply because the teller is a “medical professional” or a “medical intuitive” or a professed “healer” of any sort.
During my 40+ years of life I’ve had doctors tell me things about my body that I know are not true. The earliest example of this being that my menstrual cramps and related issues were not a source of concern. Any time you are in pain and another person tells you “oh, that’s not important or it’s all in your head” you should get away and acknowledge that the person/profession is not on your side.
Unfortunately, the medical profession still dismisses too many women’s concern about and knowledge of their bodies. More recently I had a medical professional tell me I’d have to take medicine for the rest of life due to acid reflux. Weeks later when I told that person that the simple act of drinking water before coffee in the mornings had made my symptoms disappear they said something to the tune of “well, if dietary changes help then you should certainly do that”. Crazy! She’d never once considered my diet and habits as a source of the problem.
Here’s a quick way to save yourself from being a victim of healthcare
Our healthcare system has a lot of issues. One of the ways we as individuals, as women, can keep those issues from harming us is by learning some of the tools of intuitive healers. The top tools to learn and use are:
- Listening to our bodies
- Meditation
- Relaxation
- Basic how-the-body-works facts
Albert Einstein said, "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift; the rational mind is faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
What is an intuitive healer?
Intuitive healers, medical intuitive or psychic healers as they are sometimes called are people claim to be able to diagnosis and heal through intuition or some way other than through medical testing.
Some medical doctors do something similar - they ask you a few questions then tell you what’s wrong and/or prescribe medicine, without ever doing any testing. They are basing their response on “years of experience” and/or what they “know” based on reading, classes, seminars, etc.
In my mind and experience having a medical doctor quickly tick-off a couple of your symptoms and just as quickly prescribe you some drugs is as helpful, but not more so, than talking with a self-professed intuitive healer. The healer most likely actually listened longer and spent more time talking with you about the wholeness of your life.
Whereas going to the doctor could have you suffering from white coat hypertension, the conversation with the healer was probably relaxing and relieved some of your stress. Stress relief is always a benefit.
Why should you consider yourself an intuitive healer?
When it comes to your body YOU are the only expert. No one else can know how you feel and that knowing is at the root of healing. Medical knowledge and tests are tools to aid us in achieving and living long healthy lives but each of us has to be aware of our body and its signals in order guide those tools.
Every body is different and only by acknowledging the wisdom of self and using that intuition along with medicine will we be able to have confidence that a health plan course of action is the right one for our body.
